Software requirements

• Operating systems: Linux, macOS, Windows

• GRASS GIS for Linux

• GRASS GIS for macOS

• GRASS GIS for Windows

• General dependencies for GRASS 8 (included in the provided Windows package)

  • Python 3

  • wxPython

For this workshop, we will use my daily build.

How to install GRASS 8 on Windows

This installation method does NOT require administrative rights because I have packaged GRASS 8 in an extractable ZIP file.

1. Download the latest daily build from here.

2. Extract it to C:\.

3. Create a shortcut to C:\OSGeo4W64\opt\grass\grass.bat.

4. Change the icon to C:\OSGeo4W64\opt\grass\gui\icons\grass.ico.
